Coonara Leads with innovative learning
Coonara Community House has gained recognition for its innovative approach to the delivery of nationally accredited training with the receipt of funding for three important projects in 2008. The first of these projects will fund the development of new and improved industry focused assessment tools for Aged Care and Children's Services training. Coonara will act as the lead agency for a group of eleven Adult Community Education providers in the Eastern region.
The second project is being funded by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework under its e-learning innovations grants. This major project will assist Coonara to embed e-learning (online and blended learning) across all of its accredited training courses.
In addition to these two projects Coonara's Team Leader, Leanne FitzGerald, has received professional development funding from Reframing the Future to develop her skills as a "change agent" for the Vocational Education and Training sector. Leanne is one of fifteen people selected nationwide in 2008. She will be developing her change management skills through a process of research, mentoring and work on a project to engage employers in planning training.
