She Connects

SHE CONNECTS project is a yearlong commitment to Women’s Health and Wellbeing in the City of Knox.  The project is designed to enhance women’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through a series of community building, information sessions, health checks, interactive workshops.  Over the course of 10 months, the program will host one informative activity each month, creating a safe, supportive and empowering environment for women to connect, learn, thrive and foster a sense of belonging to their community.

Join us for an important conversation around coercive control which is an intentional and ongoing pattern of abusive behavior used by one person to dominate another.

This session is for anyone who loves, supports or worries about someone they care about – daughters, sisters, mothers, neighbours, aunties, friends, nieces, colleagues or community members.

This month, our guest speaker, Julie from Underneath My Umbrella, will guide an open and supportive discussion designed to build understanding, awareness, and confidence around recognising coercive control and supporting others in our communities.

We will:

• explore what coercive control can look like in relationships.
• hear a lived-experience perspective from a mother supporting her daughter through a coercive relationship.
• ask questions openly in a non-judgemental space.

This session is for anyone wanting to learn more about coercive control, strengthen their understanding, and better support the people around them. Bring your willingness to understand this topic and join a safe space to chat, listen, learn and connect – because informed and supportive communities matter.
