Early Learning Centre
We're thrilled to announce the launch of our new combined 3 and 4 year old kindergarten program for 2025. This innovative approach to early childhood education is designed to foster a dynamic, multi-aged learning environment that benefits every child.
Why combine 3 and 4 year olds?
Research shows that multi-aged learning offers several advantages. By blending younger and older children, we create opportunities for peer mentoring, which allows older children to develop leadership skills and younger children to learn through example.
This approach encourages a deeper sense of collaberation, empathy and social skills. Additionally it provides a more personalised learning experience, as children progress at their own pace while also benifiting from th ediverse range or abilities and perspectives in the group.
Our new combined program is structured to support both individual growth and group learning. Children will experience a well rounded curriculum that focuses on creative play, cognitive development, social interraction and emotional growth - all in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Combined 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten at Coonara Community House, 2025.
Our program is developed from an understanding that children learn best through play and repetition. The Early Childhood professionals caring for your child will focus on strengths-based learning, embracing the key concepts of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
Activities will revolve around 'constants' or base areas of play that will emerge and change with the addition of resources based on the children's interests and needs.
These areas include construction, creative arts, sensory play, dramatic play, literature areas and self-selection. These constant areas will support all areas of the child's development.
Through observations, planning and reflection our program offers a quality preschool education to children aged 3+.
Spaces in our combined 3 and 4-year-old program are limited and we envourage you to enrole your child as soon as possible to secure a spot. Early enrolment ensures that your child can begin their journey in this exciting and enriching program without delay.
