The club membership rose to 54 in 2015. With many members having multiple hives this probably represents at least 200 hives in our local area providing a range of benefits for the environment. In addition to monthly meetings
the club also participated in the Stringybark Festival, two community information sessions at The Community Space @ Knox, an information stand at the Grassroots market at Kings Park in September, a presentation at Sherbrooke lodge and 2 beginners beekeeping courses.
What difference does it make?
Besides the wonderful and beneficial local honey that is produced, the bees provide valuable pollination services for local gardens and back-yard and commercial crops.
